Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I do if someone is parked in my driveway?
A: Ask in the units immediately adjacent. More than likely someone is just parked there temporarily. If no one is around and you can't contact the owner, in an emergency, contact the property manager.
Q: What to do if the dumpster is full?
A: Try the other dumpster. Frequently the other one hasn't been filled. If both are full, do not leave your garbage loose in the dumpster building. This becomes a bear attractant and is against Whistler by-laws. The dumpsters are high and the lids are heavy, do not send a kid out with the garbage. They will not be able to put it into a dumpster properly.
Q: Recycling
A: There are three recycling bins in the dumpster building. One is for glass, one for food containers and the last for mixed paper. There is no recycling for cardboard. Either break boxes down and put in a dumpster or use some other recycling means. Food containers to be recycled need to be cleaned and washed out. If you don't want to sort your garbage for recycling, just discard it in a dumpster. Mixing the recycling up or having bottles, cans, etc. in plastic bags can cause the whole container to not be recycled.
Q: There's a noisy party next door. What do I do?
A: The Pinnacle Ridge by-laws require that noise be kept to a minimum between 10PM and 7 AM. The fastest solution is to go next door and ask to have the stereo turned down, etc. Usually people are not aware of the problem. The last resort is to call Whistler by-law enforcement.
Q: Where is ski slope access?
A: For access to Blackcomb, the east (far) end of both the upper and lower roads have a ski-in/ski-out trail to the slope.
For access to Whistler, one can ski down Blackcomb and then ride either the Wizard or Magic chair lift. Ski down past (skier's left) the Blackcomb gondola to the Village access run. Another choice is to use the methods mentioned in the next question.
Q: Where do I go to get down to the village?
A: There is a WAVE bus that runs various times of the day, from every 15 minutes to once an hour. See the staff housing section of the WAVE schedule. The fare is $2 per person, exact change only.
One can walk down to the village by going out of the complex and cross the road into the Cedar Ridge and Cedar Hollow complexes. Just continue straight and follow the road around to the left. At the end, a path to the left will take you out on the Village access ski run. It leads you straight down to the Village.
The return is the reverse. If one has a ski pass for the day and the Blackcomb gondola is running, one can ride it to Base II, walk across the parking lot and down the ski slope to either the upper or lower ski-in/ski-out trails.
Q: Where do I park?
A: There is room for one car in the driveway of each unit. Do not park in the driveway of another unit (unless you want to have your vehicle towed). Parking for additional vehicles is in the visitor parking areas. The largest ones are beyond the dumpster building on the lower road. A vehicle parked there must have a Pinnacle Ridge parking pass or be subject to towing. Do not park on the sides or turn-around of the roads as that impedes Fire Department and snow plowing access.
